Skeetchestn Dodeca-Homes

Founder

About me

Mike Anderson is the founder and CEO of Skeetchesten Dodeca-Homes and the former CEO of Skeetchestn Natural Resources Corporation. He has worked with Skeetchestn Indian Band for 27 years.

Mike attained a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from University of British Columbia in 1970, and operated a small farm and wood lot in Skeetchestn Territory. He became a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) in 1996.

Alternative Building Program
Mike started an interest in the alternative log building 55-60 years ago when a Swedish elder began to teach him traditional methods of log construction. He has built a number of log structures and has been responsible for an Alternative Building Program at Skeetchestn for the past 25 years. The program has trained 15 to 20 band and local community members, and over this period has built approximately 25 log and timber roundhouse structures.

Mike has lived in Skeetchestn territory around Savona all his life. He and his wife have raised 4 children and are enjoying being grandparents to 2 grandchildren.
